Thanksgiving 2013

Yep, you read the title right...I'm back to Thanksgiving of last year!  I know this blog is ridiculously over due but I have to get these memories written down so they are not forgotten.  I thought about just skipping it this year but I can't.  The holidays this past year were a little hectic which is why I'm just now getting to blog them.   Christmas is up next :)

So, going back about six months to Thanksgiving...
My mother-in-law came up from Florida and we had a quiet little Thanksgiving.  I didn't cook because we were going to be leaving the day after to go up to Asheville.  I didn't want a lot of left overs going bad in the fridge while we were gone.  So we decided to eat out and I thoroughly enjoyed taking a break from cooking and cleaning :)

Hannah decided she would rather chew on a spoon than eat turkey dinner...

 Our little turkey :)

That evening we did a little Black Friday, really Thursday, shopping.  Hannah only lasted for the early store openings and then Nana stayed with her while Paul and I got to do some Christmas shopping.

Friday night we had our Christmas before we left for Asheville.

Hannah was much more into opening presents this year.   She was trying to sneak one in before Nana was ready...

Trying to wait patiently...

Nana was wrapping last minute presents and someone was getting a little antsy.  The door was locked so she was trying to get in through the crack...

 Finally!  Present time...

We let her open our gifts to her since we would be traveling down to Florida for Christmas.

She wasn't quite sure what to do with the car at first but let me assure you, she knows how to use it now :)

The next morning we drove up to Asheville and stayed in an historic home not too far from downtown.  The last time Paul and I were up there, I was 8 months pregnant with Hannah.  We had a great weekend exploring the city.

We visited the Grove Park Inn that evening.  The last time we were there was for New Years Eve and we really enjoyed looking at all the gingerbread houses.  We were sort of disappointed that they didn't have as many out on display this year but it was still so beautiful all decorated for Christmas.

At dinner with my girl :)

So much for getting some good pictures in front of the tree :/

The next morning we went to the Biltmore.

We tried to take some pictures for our Christmas cards and in between bundle this girl up since it was FREEZING outside but this girl was so over it!

The next morning we found some great coffee on this double decker bus and explored downtown.

 Playing in the leaves...

Back at the house...

That night we went to the evening tour of Biltmore to see the lights but Hannah was so over it from the previous day.  It was like a herd of cattle going at a snail's pace so we didn't make it through the whole thing again.  I have to say, it was beautiful!

Since we didn't last long at the Biltmore we headed over to the mall to grab some dinner and afterwards Hannah pretty much begged us to let her jump on the trampoline.  We were very hesitant but the lady running it said she would control the bungee and would let her off if need be.  This girl was like a pro!  She loved every minute of it!

That wrapped up our last night in Asheville.  Thank goodness for all the pictures to help me remember everything we did!  We had a great few days away exploring a unique and trendy little city.   I'm sure it won't be our last trip there :)
