Well, what do you know?! I'm actually writing a blog in a timely manner! I'm so far behind on all the others that I figured I would just go with the most recent event and get to the others when I can.
Today was Hannah's first day of preschool! It's hard to believe that our little girl is actually old enough to attend preschool. We had originally planned to wait until she was three but with news of Georgia coming in October we decided it might be good for her to interact with other children a couple of days a week instead of staying home with me and the baby. I try to get her out and about as much as possible but I know it's gonna be a little more difficult at first when her sister arrives.
I think we made the right decision because she has been so excited about going ever since she went to orientation last week. This morning I reminded her that she was going to school and she was bouncing off the walls to get there. She had to get her backpack on and bring a few other unnecessary belongings with her that I secretly left in the car. The whole drive there she was Miss Chatty Kathy. She couldn't stop talking about all the things that she was going to do at school. She was going by the things they got to play with last week during the orientation. When we got to her classroom she sat right down at the playdoh station and started playing. I kissed her goodbye and she just kept right on playing without skipping a beat. No tears on her end but I have to admit that I shed a few myself on the way to the car. I'm gonna blame it on the pregnancy hormones :) I'm actually glad that she was excited to go and didn't have a hard time adjusting because it would have been that much harder to leave her.
Orientation last week...
All dressed and ready to go!
At pick up time, she made it very clear to me that she was not ready to leave. She had the cutest little tutu on and was making a bracelet out of wood beads. After repeatedly telling her that we would be back Friday she was finally ok with leaving. On the way home she had to tell me all about her morning. The snacks they ate, the things they did on the playground, and so on. It was only for three hours but you would have thought she was there all day by the things she was telling me. I'm so glad she enjoyed her first day at preschool and look forward to the many fun days ahead!
